In Grade 3, students continue to develop their numeracy and literacy skills. They build on what they have already learned and begin to understand more difficult concepts. Students in Grade 3 take part in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). It is an annual assessment for students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 that cover skills in reading, grammar, writing, spelling, punctuation and numeracy.
Grade 3 students are prepared to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In preparing children for the sacrament they, attend a workshop with their family and explore the sacrament through regular Religious Education lessons.
In Grade 3, the Holy Eucharist Camping program moves a step further, where children are invited to participate in an overnight camp.This experience gives students an opportunity to develop their independence and teamwork skills.
